TRAI Denies Blocking Election SMS: Blames Service Provider, Not Election Commission
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has refuted claims made by the Congress party regarding the alleged blocking of SMS messages related to election concerns. The Congress had asserted that TRAI prevented them from sending out texts about potential poll fraud.
TRAI Clarifies: No Application Received
TRAI clarified its stance, stating that it never received any application from the Congress party regarding sending out these SMS messages. Therefore, the question of TRAI blocking the messages doesn’t arise.

According to TRAI, the rejection originated from the service provider, STPL, and not from TRAI or the Election Commission. This clarification shifts the responsibility for the blocked messages away from the regulatory body and onto the service provider.
