Gandhi’s Absence Raises Questions After HAL Criticism

This revelation is particularly noteworthy given Gandhi’s previous vocal criticism of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)’s performance. In 2019, he sharply criticized the government’s handling of HAL, accusing them of undermining the public sector undertaking. Ironically, when the performance of defence PSUs, including HAL, was being discussed in the defence committee, Gandhi was absent.

The BJP has seized upon this information, questioning Gandhi’s sincerity and commitment to national security issues. They argue that his sparse attendance demonstrates a lack of genuine interest in the crucial discussions taking place within the defence panel.
