Born and raised in Thrickodithanam, Kottayam, Kerala, Dr. Ajithkumar’s early athletic prowess was evident. From 1987 to 1992, he represented SB College, Changanacherry, under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, earning medals at both Junior National Championships and All India University meets in the 100m and 200m sprint events. These formative years not only instilled discipline and competitive spirit but also provided the foundation for his future in coaching.
His transition from athlete to mentor began with a clear mission — to identify and train raw, often overlooked talent and build systems of support that would empower them to excel at national and international levels. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Ajithkumar has served as a coach, mentor, and sports development strategist at some of India’s leading institutions:
