Bihar Election Seat-Sharing: JD(U) & BJP Secure Majority as NDA Deal Nears Completion
The political landscape in Bihar is heating up as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) inches closer to finalizing its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming assembly elections. Sources indicate that the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) has secured 102 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest 101.
Chirag Paswan’s LJP Seeks Greater Share, Potentially Complicating Final Agreement
While the JD(U) and BJP appear to have reached a consensus, negotiations with the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), led by Chirag Paswan, are proving more complex. Paswan is reportedly seeking 40 seats, a number significantly higher than the 20 seats the alliance is reportedly prepared to offer. This discrepancy could pose a challenge to the finalization of the NDA’s seat-sharing pact.
Final Seat Allocation Expected Soon
Despite the ongoing negotiations with the LJP, the NDA is expected to announce its final seat allocation soon. The division of seats between the JD(U) and BJP reflects a balanced power dynamic within the alliance, positioning both parties for a strong showing in the upcoming elections.
